STRETCH MARKS

In the sport of body-building it was very common for the athletes to develop stretch marks where the chest and shoulder muscles. Stretch marks occur when there is a rapid gain in bodyweight. The overlying skin stretches and eventually tears, It is more common in people who follow the old “bulking up” philosophy of training where there is a massive increase of calories to increase body weight. Even though the goal is to gain only muscle tissue, bulking up lays down a lot of fat. The end result of all that extra body weight is ugly purple scars. The goal should be to gain pure muscle and never increase bodyweight rapidly. It has been scientifically proven that a diet deficient nutrients, especially Vit E, can contribute to poor skin elasticity. The odds are good you are consuming adequate amounts of Vit E in your diet but you can also supplement with Vit E capsules or lotions. The research shows that it is Vit E with mixed or Gamma tocopherols that benefit the body and not the cheaper synthetic form of D-Alpha tocopherols.
